The RPRY PTA is pleased to welcome everyone back to school and we thank you for your continued support! With your $25 annual donation to the RPRY PTA, we are able to provide cultural arts programming, supplies, and materials for our students; equipment and resources for our teachers; and various amenities and special programs for our families. We can't do it without your help! If you have not already done so, please fill out your PTA membership form for the 2009-2010 school year and return it to the office by Friday, September 25th along with your $25 donation made payable to the RPRY PTA. The class with the highest level of participation by September 25th will receive a thank you gift courtesy of the PTA! Last year’s winner was Morah Eta’s Pre-Nursery class who received a prize package tailored to their needs. Morah Eta shared that her class loved music and movement and also enjoyed her storytelling. Appropriately, her prize included several teacher big books, a storytelling set, a CD, and a creative movement game! Your child’s class may be the big winner this year!
As of Tuesday, September 15th, the classes in the lead are:
1st Morah Judy Schwarzberg, Nursery 77%
2nd Mrs. Bookbinder/Mrs. Adler, Grade 2 52%
3rd Mrs. Khayat/Mrs. Menasha, Grade 3 50%
6th Grade Boys 50%
As always, we welcome your feedback and look forward to new ideas and new faces becoming involved with the PTA. Further information about the PTA can be found on the RPRY website. We thank you again for your support!
I met Senator Lautenberg and Senator Menendez, the two New Jersey State senators. It was really fun. My dad, David Waizer, and grandfather, Jonas Waizer, got honored at the Second Annual Legislative Breakfast of the Agudath Israel of NJ on Sunday, September 13 at the Regency Jewish Heritage in Somerset, where a lot of people spoke.
I liked Lautenberg’s speech especially. He spoke the best in my opinion. Lautenberg and Menendez spoke about helping Israel. Menendez also talked about supporting Jewish causes. Some of the speeches were about the government giving more money to private schools. My favorite part of the speeches was when my grandfather mentioned my name and made me stand up in front of everybody. He said he hoped I would be a future leader in the community.
I think meeting Senators Menendez and Lautenberg was very cool because they’re the most important politicians I have met. They were very nice. I heard that Senator Lautenberg cast more votes than any other New Jersey senator in the senate because he’s been around for a while. It was cool to see my dad honored and speak in front of hundreds of people. I felt proud of my dad.
